Silver City Public Library

When I was new to Silver City a few years ago and didn't know anybody the public library became one of my main hangouts. I still go there at least once a week. They have a shelf of free to keep books by the front desk and $1 books near the back. I have a small library of my own in my apartment now from searching through those shelves. The library is always a clean, quiet, meditative sort of environment - very peaceful and calming. My only wish is that they would upgrade the $1 nonfiction section in the back to a larger shelf instead of that little cart that you have to stoop down to look at. Very pleasant people. Good wifi and atmosphere. Everyone is always quiet and respectful when I'm here. Will return again.

Very difficult to get a clear concise answer from the library staff. They seem to make things very difficult

Great staff, fast computers, fast internet on computers and wifi.

The Silver City Public Library is an oasis. Newly renovated with free meeting rooms, a wonderful children's reading area, and cozy computer lab. In a time where what's good for everyone is disregarded, our library is a light in the dark.
