Alamogordo Public Library

We love our public library. We are so grateful for all the hard work they have done to provide curbside service and are excited to be able to go back in and browse again.

I have been here for 4 years now and this has been a consistent experience for me. The selection is great and the children's department staff are fantastic. The rest of the staff are always nasty, sarcastic, impolite, condescending, and all around rude. If you would like to talk to someone who will put you in a bad mood for the rest of the day, visit the Alamogordo library for 5 minutes. They have you covered!

I love having a library for school resources as a homeschool mom, but I am so sick and tired of dealing with the trashy staff. They have nothing better to do with their lives but be rude and talk down to everyone. It's as if they never left highschool. It's bad enough that we are all locked down with this pandemic. The least they could do is be decent human beings. I hope that the management will take this seriously and correct their behavior. I can see from the rest of the reviews that I'm not the only one that has had this type of experience at the Alamogordo public library.

The ability to receive books from the library is a life saver. It keeps our minds from going to mush during this long-long-long time of isolation.

2 stars if you are WIFI focused. 5 stars if you like turtles, they have a turtle aquarium. Very slow wifi, no password. I have had worse but this is close to the bottom. Tested at 300Kbit/s down but most things were downloading at under 100Kbit/s. I couldn't get my driver downloads done because it was going to take over 3 hours. Lots of tables for laptops but few have power, bring an extension cord. Bright open spaces, good atmosphere. Staff seemed friendly to me. You can bring in covered drinks.
