I sure loved being here. Owner was extremely welcoming and kind. Beautiful views, comfy spaces! Thanks for being great!
Awesome base camp. Pens for horses. Nice set up.
5+ stars and then some!!!nnI cannot begin to explain how much we LOVED staying here! My 17 and 16 year-old daughters, our almost 2 year-old Siberian Husky and I spent the most wonderful Labor Day weekend at the ranch and it was an amazing experience that we'll never forget! We drove almost 24 hours straight from Minnesota to get to our cabin but in hindsight we would have driven twice as far, it was SO worth it!!nnEvery morning, we'd drink our coffee on the porch and watch the sun come up and then go pet the horses and the mule. The animals were very healthy and were so friendly and happy to see us!!! Then we went on a morning hike and stopped back for a quick lunch and then took off again until supper. There were so many trails very close by, which was really cool! FYI the little grocery store at Freemon's doesn't carry hardly any food, but the grocery store in Creede has about anything you could want! Almost everything we needed for the whole long weekend was in our cabin (expect for a pizza cutter). I have no doubt if we would have notified Ted or Debby that we needed one, they would have brought us one right away! They were both super nice, friendly and easy-going! Truly treated us as guests and wanted us to have a great time, which we did! Parts of the ranch were a little worn down but not too unsightly nor unsafe-looking at all. No washer and dryernbut if there was, the cost probably would have been higher than what we wanted to spend. Watching the sun set on the hills and mountains and the later seeing stars as like never before was a highlight of our trip! Seriously! - SO many stars and the Milky Way was so clear...we did visit during a new moon but I would have loved to see the mountains in in the moonlight too!nnThe cabin was super comfortable, the heater warmed it up really quick in the mornings and the open windows kept it cool in the afternoon and evenings. The rooms were pretty spacious but I would recommend bringing a power strip if you have alot of devices or items to plug in! We did being one and my teenagers were glad we did! Our Verizon signal was pretty good, 3G- not our usual 4GLTE but the girls could still watch their videos *insert mom eye roll!* Traveling anywhere right next to the hills cut our signal so I would recommend screenshotting if needed. Plenty of plates, bowls, cups, glasses, silverware in the cupboards and a nice assortment of pots, pans, skillets, cooking utensils, ect (except the pizza cutter but that was no big deal, we just used one of the big knives!). I'm sure if we would have truly needed anything, Ted would have cruised over in the golfcart and accommodated us right away. The cabin was spotless! Freshly cleaned sheets and pillowcases. No dust or cobwebs or crumbs anywhere! The beds were very very comfortable (think high-end hotel beds!) and there were extra pillows and blankets and towels, plus loads of washclothes and hand towels which we didn't need use much but a family with small children would really appreciate. Great water pressure in the shower and lots of hot water. The stove was great and the fridge kept everything super cold! The porch was a favorite spot for my girls to read and do homework (our school started early this year). There is a horseshoe pit and a large community fire pit. We didn't use the grill but there was one a nice one right outside the cabin if we would have wanted to use it.nnI'm trying to think of any cons of staying here to leave a very honest review and I truly can't think of any reason why anyone wouldn't love this place as much as we did!nnEveryone should book a weekend or even a whole week here...just not the amazing cabin on the weekend we are going back to next year!!!nnThank you to the Dooleys for such a blessed place to spend time exploring your mountains and for the opportunity to spend such an amazing time with my children! And Mia, our Husky, she was SO happy there. Thank you!
If heaven is a place on Earth, this is the place.
