Must go if you're in Glenwood.
My boyfriend and I went to this place over the summer during a week long road trip. I had been wanting to check out their vapor caves for quite awhile, and they did not disappoint! Because it’s so incredibly hot and humid down there, there’s no way you can take your phone down there, but I wish I could’ve captured what it’s like! However I also bought us the couple’s mineral bath and was super disappointed. We only had it for thirty minutes, and we spent twenty of those minutes constantly asking the attendant for ice to throw in the bath since the water was insanely hot, like I couldn’t even put my hand all the way in it. We were asking for ice so much that eventually we just started helping ourselves to the ice and filling up any buckets we could find with it. When we were finally able to get the temperature down to a level that wasn’t going to burn us alive, the thirty minutes was basically up. We explained what happened and the staff gave us a free day pass, but that hardly covered what I spent for the private mineral bath unfortunately.nBut I will be coming back for those amazing vapor caves! Just don’t waste your time/money on any of the other amenities.
Always come here when I’m in town. The vapor caves are a experience everyone should try at least once. The only feedback I would give is the massage rooms should have a door and be more closed off, because the massage therapist next door was being super loud and so was the guest so it was kind of hard to rest and zen out. Love the solarium it’s the perfect place to read a book and zen. Also recommend the mineral baths it’s a private treat. All in all I recommend this spa ud83dudc4f
This place was a game changer! Patsy and all of the staff were so sweet and accommodating.nThe vapor caves were unlike anything you will ever experience. The private bath was so amazing.nThis water at Yampah is different. You can feel that it the real deal, so pure and healing. After years of coming in from out of state to go to the hot springs. I will come here for a private bath moving forward. Wish I knew about this place sooner!nI just left and already can’t wait to come back. We will be back after the holidays, I will have to make sure to get a massage at the next visit.
Life-changing experience. Not kidding. An experience unlike anything you’ll ever experience. USE THE HOSE/SHOWER down in the caves to cool down as often as you like. Go cool off by entrance if you get too hot, but once you understand how to cool yourself down with the hose and by filling the white buckets and soaking your feet, hands, or eucalyptus towel in the cold water... it’s game on! ... USE THIS TIME FOR INNER REFLECTION. KEEP TALKING TO A WHISPER OR NOT AT ALL. Be respectful when entering and leaving the caves and rooms, some people are on a true healing journey.nnIt was explained as I sit in the caves, then go relax in the solarium then back to the caves... which in reality I was back and forth quite frequently in the beginning...but the hose/shower/bucket thing wasn’t explained. The first 20 minutes were rough. I didn’t think I was going to be able to make it. Once I used the hose to cool off, and I laid in the solarium for a few minutes, something switched when I re-entered the caves... I was laying with my feet up on the wall to ground myself and eucalyptus cooling towel over my face. I didn’t want to leave when the two hours was up. It’s okay to go cool down as much as you need. Thanks for such a wonderful blessing as these steam caves.
