Maya Sailing Adventures

The sailing experience was amazing! Terry was a great captain. He really put us at ease on the open seas and was very accommodating to our circumstances of our children getting seasick. He was able to make the trip fun despite having to change plans. This is a great social distancing activity because he has his section of the boat and the guests have the rest. We will definitely be sailing with him again!

My group's sailing adventure on board the Maya was very enjoyable. Captain Terry was a friendly and competent skipper who did his very best to ensure we had a wonderful sailing experience despite the lack of wind that day. I will not hesitate to recommend his service to friends and family.

We had a fantastic time sailing on the Maya! Terry is a generous host and watchful captain. Our trip to the Channel Island could not have gone better - tons of wildlife, fresh seafood, beautiful scenery, and very comfortable accommodations. We look forward to our next trip!

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time sailing around Morro Bay. We spent one night aboard the Maya and it was truly magical. Captain Terry picked us up and surprised us with a private whale watching trip. We followed a mother humpback whale and her pup for about 45 min. The whales came within 20 yards of the boat and put on a little show for us. Even without the whales the views from the boat were breathtaking. The swaying of the ocean under us was hypnotizing and relaxing. After that we went back into the harbor and grabbed some clam chowder to go. We watched the sunset from the deck of the Maya. Then we relaxed ate and drank wine, talking with Terry about his interesting adventures. We spent the night in a cozy bed at the bow of the boat. The fresh cool ocean air wafting in from the windows. The best sleep I have ever had. Then in the morning Terry made us breakfast and we watched a sea lion swimming by in the calm morning water. We then took a dingy over to the Morro Bay sandspit and my girlfriend and I hiked through the sand dunes to the ocean side where we had a private secluded beach. It was glorious and there were hundreds of sand dollars all around as well as a plethora of bird species.nnThe boat is absolutely gorgeous. A true work of art on the outside and the inside. It is spacious yet cozy and the wood interior provides a sense of peace and relaxation.nnTerry is an amazing person and captain. He is knowledgeable, trustworthy and mild mannered. He is very easy going and has a wonderful energy about him. He has many great stories as well as insights on life. A true renaissance man.nnOut of all of travel experiences that are out there, this sailing adventure is truly one of a kind. We were only on the boat for about 24 hours, but it seemed like a week of bliss. A true escape from the city and the stresses of life. I'd highly highly HIGHLY recommend taking a trip with Terry on the Maya!!
