This is a fantastic company; if you have a shake roof in Northeast Ohio get to know Shake Masters. Regency is the only game in town, there are other firms specifically one in Pepper Pike, who claim to do the same thing for about half the price not true. That company has changed their name about seven times and each time they tried to make it sound like Shake Masters. I bought a home in 2013 with a shake roof and at that time was told by the original owner that every seven years or five, the maintenance needs to be done to keep the roof in good shape. I called and spoke to Paul who came out the same day and explained the process. First thing, they spray an enzyme over the entire roof and let it break down organic material that inevitably grows/settles on cedar shake.nnLater the company comes back and hoses off the entire roof with clean water that they bring in a giant tank truck. The sludge that comes off your roof will shock you; it’s like mud. Wash down and clean your house up to make sure that there are no stains on white trim or on decorative stone then it’s time for the final process, which is spraying a colorant and sealer, thats makes your roof look brand-new and function as it should. Please bear in mind this process can take months; they like the enzyme to sit on the roof for several weeks breakdown anything that shouldn’t be in there, and then once they hose it off it must completely dry out until it’s nearly brittle. Once they spray the colorant and sealer, the shake relaxes and flattens out into a beautiful finished product.nnI found these guys to be a bit more on the expensive side than other companies, but I trust them. The work they did for me was fantastic, and they do a lot of little extras without charging you for it. Specifically, no matter how new your roof is you will likely have a few damaged shingles here and there. They price for that however if you need a few more you not to see it show up on your bill. These guys are far from Petty. If your shake roof is looking gray and some of the shake is cupped, it’s time to call these guys and at least get an estimate. The alternative may be a $100,000 new roof 6 to 10 years down the road just because you didn’t do the maintenance.

We had a new shake roof put on our house in 2003. The roof is a wonder of architectural beauty and environmental efficiency - cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Fifteen years later, we had them back. We replaced the 30 year old sky lights, had the roof cleaned and resealed. Picture perfect. Thank you.
