This school is a joke. It was replaced by a similar school which is the exact same except a slightly different name and more funding. Even with the more funding they still fail to keep students educated and behaved. The drop out and fail rate is insanely high, and if that doesn't convince you then take into consideration how awful the security and safety here is. If you are considering sending your kids here, don't.

John Adam is a school that is miss understood and what I mean by that is if you have a government that won't do their job by the school system how do you expect the teachers to do their job when they are the weight on their necks children are learning my son has a IEP and he is doing very well and that's because I am a very involved mother and mine will not fall because I have his back and the school back so please get involved I did. Parents look you have more power then you think if we all get together they have to do what we ask they have no power you do and so what they give free stuff that's to throw you off your a game witch is to make them do their job parents please have understanding for what I am saying.

This is one of the worst and most backwards schools I have ever attended, everything about the school is bad specially the attendance system. They totally lie about it for good ratings, you can get suspended for idiotic things. The teachers are good but the Staff overall is terrible. Also they expect you to eat lunch in 15 minutes when they don’t even let you into the line till the end(mostly for males) then when you try to eat the send you out. Then the principals of the school have favoritism. A student they know well could fight or argue with a teacher and get a talk or nothing at all while if you don’t get along with her or him, or just don’t know them that well they would give you 5-10 days for both things. It should be equality at this school and it’s not.

I went there from 1967 to 1971, some of the best years of my life, although I didn't know it at the time. Some people complain that its a bad school because its in an inner city neighborhood, but just in my class, we had people who graduated and went on to become doctors, lawyers, writers, politicians and military officers and Non-commissioned officers, and all kinds of other professions. Was it the school, probably not, then again, it obviously didn't hurt either. I went to John Adams Senior High School and I'm proud, and feel fortunate to have been able to go there and say I graduated from there.
