Forest City Farm and Orchard N.S.S (02/04/2020)
On Sunday 2/1/2020, I was driving on Euclid Ave and noticed UCPD sitting at the entrance of Lakeview Cemetery clocking people with their radar. I thought that to be unusual and pointed at them to my friend. They noticed me pointing, and pulled out into the other lane. When they noticed they could not read my temporary tag they decided to turn the light on from the other lane to get me to pull over. I did, they said they pulled me over for traveling at 38mph. As I know my rights, I refused to play along and they called for their female backup. They asked me to get out of the car, I refused, as I am 8 months pregnant. They wanted my license, I refused, I did provide my license #, as they also asked for the SSN. All this to not give a speeding ticket or any ticket at all. They seemed to have needed some practice with pulling people over or to harass people. Stick to ticketing UCPD!!!

University Circle police twice harassed a young African American Subway employee while he was on the job. The first incident occurred when the UCP complained to the employee and the owner that a white family did not like the music that the young black employee was playing. The second incident took place today (3/11/18) when the same young black male employee refused to give free food to a white man ( this white man is notorious for begging for free food). The white man stood outside of the Subway restaurant cussing and threatening revenge. He called University Circle police who then came into subway. walked into the kitchen, went behind the counter and demanded the employee's name. When the young black employee asked why they were there, they claimed to be investigating a robbery. The problem with this scenario is that clearly no robbery was taking place and the young black male was dressed in his subway attire waiting on a customer. Furthermore, these same police officers frequent the restaurant and often place orders with this particular employee. When the young man and his mother went to the police dept. to file a complaint, the acting supervisor refused to hear their complaints unless they supplied their drivers license which he then proceeded to make copies of and run their names. Clearly something needs to be done to address these discriminatory practices!!!
