I have had a negative experience with Elkhorn Dermatology since my first phone call. My PCP had to fax over the referral 3 different times before they would schedule me an appointment. They never did receive the referral. After 2 weeks of calling both my PCP and the dermatologist, I finally got scheduled for an appointment about 10 days out. Showed up for my appointment and they didn't have me on the schedule for that day. They were gracious enough to see me anyways. The rash on my skin was very rare and although the woman that treated me was very kind she did not know how to diagnose and treat the rash. After another week of waiting for a diagnosis and treatment plan I was finally prescribed antibiotics and a wash that I have used diligently for 4 weeks now and I see little to no improvement in the condition of my skin. I have called the office back 5 days ago to schedule for a follow up and a new treatment plan. Of course, no one answered the phone, so I left a message and yet again I have not been called back. The office staff is not very nice on the phone or in person and I am not happy with the experience I have had at this dermatologist office.

Dr. is very nice--staff not so much. Of most importance, I was expected to make payment, even though my insurance companies fully paid the bill. U sent a letter and knew that would reply with an explanation--that didn't happen. Now when I call, they don't respond and do not leave any messages. I was so happy with Dr. Wilson, but highly irregular business practices. Beware!

First visit ever to a dermatologist, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the excellent care and treatment I received. Dr. Smith and his staff made the entire experience pleasant and I left knowing that I had a good dermatologist that I can rely on!

Bad Experience all around. Staff rarely answer phone calls. Hope you enjoy leaving messages and waiting for a call back when they have time. This was not a one time thing either, every time I call when I have a problem with my prescription (which is often), it is an issue getting in touch with someone.nnUpdate : I called the number below to express my concerns with the office manager as they requested, selected option #2 and as usual was left with a message that they are unable to take my call at this time but if I leave a message they will be glad to return my call. Thanks but no thanks.

Not a great experience. Jessica, the nurse practitioner was great but the office staff is unorganized, not well trained and unfriendly. We waited an hour to be seen and were told that they just didn’t check us in. Jessica apologized even though it wasn’t her fault but not a word from the office staff. I know mistakes happen but from someone who spent 12 years working in a medical office myself, this is not how you treat a patient when you make a mistake.
