This is my first negative review ever and I honestly feel bad writing it but I'm just so upset. I live locally to this Jeweler and when my husband offered to redo my wedding band for my 40th birthday I was so excited and went to the closest one to me. I saw Tom and explained I wanted a very custom piece and asked if they did custom orders, I was told yes. He took my ring to measure the diamond and I showed him pictures of a silver CZ ring that I wanted created in platinum with diamonds. It also had to be adjusted as my center stone is rectangular and the picture was circular. I pointed that out. I wanted it custom configured to my stone. He asked me to email him pictures. He also suggested I purchase the CZ ring because it would be easier to make a mold of it and work from that. The ring wasn't too expensive but was $125 which I didn't really want to do for no reason if I didn't have to, just a waste of money so I told him I would send pictures and I emailed him right from the store! The first time I emailed him I got an undelivered notice, my fault, I had a spelling error in his email address. I spoke to him the next day and confirmed the correct one. I sent him another email and he said he would start working on it as soon as he got it......called 2 days later and he said he thought I was stopping in because he never got an email. This time I knew I sent it to the correct place for sure and I got no return notice so I figured he was just busy and I once again confirmed the email address and sent him an additional email with pictures attached..... I asked him to please email me back that he received them and he said he would and if not he would call he also said he would go on the website that I found my pictures on himself. Well no call no email....3 days later I stop in with my husband pictures in hand and the first thig he says is he never got my emails...ok I'm thinking that's BS but whatever I'm here now with my pictures so I just want to get to designing. He looks at my pictures and says he would really like to actual ring to see. OK fine I buy it, I will give it to my daughter to wear. Well I go in today with the ring for him and as soon as he sees it he says it wont fit my stone because the ring has a round stone and my stone is rectangular!!!! HE knew that. Plus what jeweler cant create a fitting to switch a center stone?? That I figured was the easy part! He got really frustrated and said it was too custom but he would get a price and see. Then I asked to upgrade the size of the diamonds in the halo around the center piece and that was the kiss of death I guess. He said he didn't WANT to do it. I took my ring and left. Now after wasting my time sending emails and buying a ring I don't need, he doesn't want my business. I'm honestly extremely disappointed and can't help wonder if he didn't take me seriously because of the way I was dressed. I own horses and often go out in sweat pants and sweat shirts with my hair pulled into a crazy ponytail when I'm not in my work clothes. Very unassuming but I'm just not the flashy type, maybe it had nothing to do with that, maybe that's why he never found the time for my project. Either way I will absolutely NEVER be going to him again.nnUpdate: After leaving this jeweler I was so upset that I was expecting way too much and would not be able to find a jeweler to do what I was hoping. I was totally wrong! Went to Cowans's Jewlers in New Windsor and they are amazing! Jeff literally took 2 hours going over every detail to design my perfect ring. They do CUSTOM! Jeff also went through ways to keep cost down and my ring beautiful. I can't wait to see it!

I can't say enough about this place. My bracelet broke last minute on a Saturday and after being given the run around at another local jeweler and then calling around, I was finally referred to Kavanaugh's Jewelers. I called and spoke to Denise who kindly informed me that a repair on a busy Saturday would be next to impossible, but she talked to Tom then told me to bring it in and they would at least take a look at it. I did. Tom told me to leave it and he would see what he could do. An hour before closing, I was picking it up repaired perfectly and cleaned. The bill was more than fair and the work absolutely flawless. Don't waste your time running around to other spots. Customer service is everything and these guys deliver big. This place is clean, the staff is kind and courteous, the work is great and the prices very, very reasonable. Thanks you for bending over backwards to help me and save me at the last minute. I'll see you with more of my jewelry business and will be more than comfortable and happy sending people your way. ~ Tommy

I've passed this place countless times to and from work never once thought about stopping. Last year I was doing some Christmas shopping and decided to go in a take a peek. I found a gorgeous watch for my brother that almost is a complete replica of my grandfathers watch whom passed away March 2019. I purchased and had it engraved with my brothers initials. Once he got the watch he said this looks like grandpa's watch and I almost broke into tears because that's exactly what I wanted him to realize.... when you have a small family the little things matter. I love this place. They made my Christmas 2019. ❤
