As a student, I can say that while most of the food tastes good, the service at most locations is incredibly slow or incompetent. I always have to wait so long for some locations that I end up eating the same food over and over again from the places that don't get much traffic. I have places to be and work to be doing, so considering I am required to have a meal plan and that I will not eat dining hall food, it feels like a huge ripoff.

Lot's of choices and variety. It's not perfect. Sometimes the food takes a long time to be ready and sometimes the service is slow but the majority of my experiences have been positive. A positive attitude, gratitude, and a smile goes a long way and the people behind the counter work hard- some are students and some are members of the community. I wish UAlbany would partner with local businesses instead of sodexo which is really expensive without discount dollars and sometimes makes me sick. Healthier options would be great too: less burger and fries and maybe a juice bar or healthy options other than salad. The salad bar closes too early too. I recommend Nikko's or the Chinese food/Indian/Pho place and Halall shack. Lot's of places to sit even when busy and staff does a good job usually at keeping it clean.

Ualbany and sodexo's monopoly on food services is an atrocity. The food quality is comparable to prison food. While the campus center may look visually appealing. Unfortunely the disgruntled employees which resemble former felons quickly disbands this illusion.

What's wrong with that? New camper centers have been completed with existing campus centers increasing in number, but many have not been successfully utilized.
