We have been at Oasis in Madison, NJ for many years. Both my kids love it. The Drew University setting is beautiful and has ample space and their pool is great. The daily swimming instruction had made both my kids strong swimmers. The counselors are always friendly, upbeat, energetic and work well with all of the kids. I recommend this camp to anyone who wants their kids outside in the summer, meeting other kids and full day option.

Not happy that when asking for information about pickup and drop-off the answer we were given was to attend a 2+ hour parent orientation and a campus tour. A reproduction of a campus map with an X on it would have been sufficient to let me know where to drop off and pickup.nnWe went to the orientation and were told that they were out of backpacks and that they would have one waiting for us on the first day. On our first day they did not have the backback ready for us but more importantly there seemed to be little or no procedure in place for welcoming new campers.nnThe above two things are minor. If it was just those two things I probably wouldn't even bother to write a review, however I've been ***waiting over 6 weeks for a refund***. Each time I call I'm told it is being processed. They had my request for refund for over 6 weeks and no action taken. No returned phone calls. When requesting to speak with supervisor or to someone with authority (not a voicemail) to help me the person answering the phones either ignored or refused my request and transferred me to voicemail. I called back a second time explaining I wanted to speak to a real live person and I was transferred to the same voicemail a second time.nnWhen you call the phone number listed on their website the main menu suggests that you press 1 to use a staff directory system that is completely bogus and not properly configured. This camp has proved to be more frustration than fun. Our son has attended Camp Invention and three YMCA camps. This was his (and our) least favorite camp [and also the most expensive].

Parents beware! I went to an information session on the Oasis program in January. We were impressed, but were deciding between 2 camps at the time. We were told that if we were interested, sign up at the information session and there would be a discount. There would also be a discount if we paid in full up front for the entire summer. We were told that it wasn't a problem at all if we decided to go to the other camp, they would gladly give us a refund. We decided to sign up the next day and pay in full. With camp being so expensive for our 2 boys, we gladly welcomed the discounts. Even though we hadn't 100% decided on Oasis, even if we changed our minds, we would just get a refund, right? Wrong... We ended up changing our minds and now it's been 2 months of unanswered emails and phone calls saying that our $7000!! refund would be processed. When I called 2 weeks ago, checks were going out last week. I called again today because I haven't received my check and now I'm being told that the lady who writes the checks is on vacation. Something smells very fishy here. I'm starting to feel like I've been scammed. So.... parents beware. Do not sign up in advance if you're not 100% sure! Refunds are not as easy as they make them sound!
