Washington Street Light Rail Station

Better than Military Park by far. Working elevator, handicap accessibility. Nice station. Love taking the light rail and prefer it over bus. It's easily accessible for handicapped. Elevators for both directions and two stairways for both directions as well. Plane street is no more and is called University Ave now. New Jersey Transit has kept much of the history in this station inside and out. Great preservation.

Conveniently located in downtown Newark near some of the best colleges and many businesses and the judicial system. It is usually quiet.nHowever, some people smoke cigarettes and weed at the station. There are signs that discourage smoking but seems like people ignore the signs.

This train station is usually empty I don't feel safe when there by myself

clean, but I wish the people were less rude on the platform
