South Orange Public Library

Not the fanciest library but the folks that work there are all so helpful

The library is a good place in Los Angeles to visit and hang out, with validated parking for those with a library card for a limited time if less than 1 hr, then it's about $5 for the 2nd hour, which isn't bad at all for the area.

The South Orange library is open again, with Covid-era hours and new protocol. Face coverings are required. As of early July 2020, the library is open Monday 9am-11am, 2-6pm; Tuesday 9am-12pm (seniors), 2-4pm, and 6-8pm; Wednesdays 2-6pm; Thursdays 9am-12pm, 2-6pm; and Fridays 9am-12pm (seniors), 2-5pm. The library has breaks for cleaning each day. It is not currently open on the weekends. There is a temperature scanner at the front entrance. You can call ahead to reserve a book and they will call you when it's ready (a few days later). I found all of the library workers to be kind and accommodating, given the unusual circumstances. I'm glad to see them open again.

Generally a quiet place to work/study with extremely helpful staff

The South Orange Public Library is a great place to spend a day. The place is two and half to three floors of books, video, CDs and more. It has computers for your use and they hold a number of community events all year longs for non profits and more throughout the year. The South Orange Public Library is orderly and neat, bathrooms are always clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend you visit today.
