Juror Parking for Veteran Courthouse

I received a summons for jury duty and had to drive my car there. The paper said I could park in this lot. Got to the the lot at 8:00 AM and upon entering got a ticket from the machine as I entered. I was able to park right on the lower level near the entrance to the courthouse. When I went inside, one of the security guards asked if I had a parking ticket. She stamped it. When my service was done for the day, I returned to my car, drove toward the exit gate, and slid the ticket into the machine that controls the gate. The gate went up, no charge, and I was on my way home.
