Boarders Inn & Suites by Cobblestone Hotels - Faribault

Nice hotel. We had a pleasant stay there (under the covid circumstances). Pool and area were clean and neat. The staff were accommodating . They have a neat little breakfast nook that was a welcome sight in the morning. My only nitpick was the toilets often clogged. Other than that, I liked it.

My fiancé has called quite a few times to try to block off some rooms for our wedding. Its unfortunate that they don't want to pick up the phone or want to help us with reserving the rooms. We live an hour away so it is crucial to block off some rooms as well as the fact our entire family is from out of town. It sounds like we will have to look into another hotel since this place doesn't want our money.

We booked two nights at this hotel. Check in was easy and accomondating as we were originally booked on second floor, no elevator, desk clerk moved us to a first floor room. We were only 4 doors away from the front desk. As we were walking towards our room the clerk informed us of a hockey tournament this weekend and they would have some of the participants staying in the hotel. she failed to mention that the participants were 8-10 years old, very little supervision, and very rowdy!! I went out of our room once to order a pizza which the desk clerk cooked up for us, the floor was drenched as so many youngersters were running back from the swimming pool. As we were planning an early morning arising to meet others we tried to get a decent nights sleep. Very hard to do with all the running around all night. By 11:30pm my husband had it and called the desk to see what they planned to do about it. New desk clerk, she said we were not the first to complain. He asked if they were booked for the next night as well and she said yes. He cancelled our reservation, and came very close to calling the police as the children really did not act like there was any adult supervison at all. Noise finally faded down around 1:30am. Clerk never tried to make us feel like we were important or that they cared. We checked out at 6am and there was no apolology. Also, under toilet seat in bowl was absolutely filthy.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!! I am beyond disappointed in the cobblestone hotel and management. As a former hotel manager I understand the balance between making money on extended reservations and accommodating wedding parties. I booked this hotel a year ago for my best friends wedding and was notified today (by the distraught bride) that the entire hotel for September has been booked out and that ALL reservations are being cancelled to accommodate a work group. The bride was JUST notified of this today.nnI can’t even imagine how the bride is feeling given that she was just notified of this in the midst of coronavirus uncertainty and after confirming with the hotel last week that the block was all set. After talking with the manager I was told that “the rooms are for people coming in for 3 months so there wasn’t a question about what was priority”. After expressing concern and inquiring if there was any way to keep the reservation, I was told that the room had already been booked to someone else even though I had originally booked it. The manager then asked “do you want to cancel the room?” after saying my room was already booked out without my knowledge so I had no option but to cancel. When were we going to be notified of this? We’re we going to arrive and not have a room?nnDo not book this hotel for weddings as the anxiety of managing all of the details for peak wedding season and then getting short notice that the hotel is cancelling all of the existing reservations was the brides worst nightmare. The hotel manager didn’t offer any alternatives, recommendations for local hotels, or empathy. Highly disappointed. 0 stars isn’t even enough to convey the frustration and poor customer service.
