Free advice if you are going to take a class for your journeyman or Masters. Jon Sunde was above and beyond helpful to me and I am unabashedly union. There were other two or three other union men in the class, (out of 20 to 30) and he helps one and all. There were also one or two people who English was not their first language. We are all there to learn, do not be rude and you will laugh and learn a ton. He has a heart to help everyone pass these tests, which I thought was awesome. The rest of this is my experience. I hope it helps you pick this course.n----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------nI am writing this joyful, jubilant review of Jon Sunde after passing my Minnesota master electrician test. I made the same mistake as many of you I bet and did the $300.00 weekend prep course that kinda helped followed by a different online $400.00 course that also helped but not enough to pass. I really wish I had paid the $1000.00 Sunde school first. It has been ten years since I took my journeyman. I remembered so little of my apprenticeship formulas it wasn’t funny. This is a hard test gang.nnI was working for a company that would not invest into employees outside their small box of training and I wanted my masters license. I contacted the local IBEW halls and the courses they offered were counted as continuing-ed, so attendance from beginning to end is state-mandated. My former employer would not let me leave a half hour early to do their class, so those courses were out. (I cannot comment one way or another on the IBEW classes beyond that, I did not take them)nnWe met at Kennedy high school in Bloomington MN. (He has several course locations in MN.) First week of Sunde School is free, where you meet both Jon and his charming wife while you gauge the class. The entire time I attended his course, we had delicious, homemade cookies and other sweets she provided because they know you are leaving work and a snack to fuel you through the night is great.nnJon knows his code and formulas. This becomes apparent during the first week. Something that may not be obvious during the first week is Jon will match your dedication to passing. He said that if anyone wanted to get a study group together on a different night and would pay for a facility he would come tutor a small group if enough of us would do it. I volunteered my church and he showed up in Eagan after I paid the small fee to use the room. ($50.) After a while of just the two of us he asked if I would be willing to drive to Fairbault, (much closer for him) to review. I needed the repetition, so I agreed. I do not know how exactly how much additional time he invested in me. It is a four-month course I signed up for and attended an additional two months of his next course plus all the extra study time. I am here to tell you that the results speak for themselves. I went from a 48% on that test to a 79% on my master after six months.nIf you are serious about passing, go to Sunde School.n~Sammy
