Hyatt Place Minneapolis Airport-South

Not a bad hotel for the most part. Front desk guy was very nice and helpful. Rooms are designed in a interesting way; very creative. The problems that drag the rating down for me was finding an orange bottle and lighter underneath the sofa bed. No microwave in the rooms which seemed weird for this type of hotel. The pull out sofa bed didn't have blanket so we had to get get one. When I got a blanket from front desk it had a few rips in it very low quality. I wouldn't say the hotel isn't worth staying but there is definitely somethings you would expect to be better then what they were for being a HYATT. I enjoyed the stay with my family for one night but not worth over 100 dollars a night. I have stayed at a choice hotel for lower rate and had more and better quality. Whatever manager or owner See's this review can say whatever you want as far as sorry for the inconveniences but doubt anything would be done about somethings that were mentioned in order to keep things the HYATT way.

I booked through hotels.com and was not informed at all of the pool not being fully open. When I checked in I was advised we had to sign up for swim time and it was limited to 1 hour per room. I signed up for my kids to swim that night, but the pool was so cold we couldn’t even enjoy that one hour. The water was freezing, and the air itself was cold as well. I advised a hotel staff of this and the only response I got was “oh”. One of the reasons I choose this hotel was because the website said it had a bar. I found out after checking in that the bar was closed. There was no microwave in my room. I’ve never stayed in a room without a microwave. I have a baby that drinks warm milk, and I had to come down from my 3rd floor room to use the microwave in the Livy in the middle of the night. Staff was not friendly. Seemed like they were annoyed to be there. At one point I came down to the front desk for assistance, and no one was there. There was also a line of people waiting to check in. We waited for almost half an hour before someone finally came to help. On my second night a staff member knocked on my door close to midnight telling me he received multiple noise complaints from my room. The only noise in my room was a very low TV, so I was confused about what he was saying. He just kept telling me to keep the noise down. My baby got a small amount of crayola washable paint on the carpet that was easily able to be wiped up. The hotel tried to charge me $150 telling me they had to replace all the carpet in the room only to later tell me the paint came right out. On the reviews it stated the served hot breakfast grab and go items, however all they had was cereal, cold/almost frozen muffins, and hard boiled eggs. The coffee was gross. I was so disappointed in my entire stay. The only positive thing I have to say is that the room was very spacious. I will probably never stay at another Hyatt ever.

I was double charged! I paid $140 on Expedia when I booked and was supposed to owe $140 when we got there. I was charged $330 when I got there and nobody resolved my concerns. The reason for me choosing this hotel was so my 4 small children could swim. You’re only allowed 1 hour to swim and have to schedule it, none of the times worked for us. When we did finally get a hour the pool was ice cold and there was no heat in the pool room. Our whole vacation was ruined because of this hotel! I will never stay at a Hyatt hotel again and I travel a lot, but they’re terrible!

It has pretty good soundproofing for being such a busy place when we stayed on 3/26/21. The breakfast is nothing good at all but the staff that we interacted with during this overtime was very pleasant

My favorite hotel. We go there every year! Great room and good price. Staff very helpful.
