Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Eagan/St Paul

My partner and I stayed here Mon-Fri. in one of the suites everything was fine at first, staff wasn’t very friendly upon arrival but the room was clean and everything was good inside so I didn’t mind. My real issue was when I called the front desk on Thursday night to see if I could do a late check out on Friday because my flight was leaving at 3:30pm. So I called and asked the lady at the front desk if I could do late check out on Friday, she proceeded to ask me until what time so I told her until 2:30pm. She told me yes but that there would be an additional charge which I said was fine with and she proceeded to charge me. The next day on Friday I get a call from the front desk asking what time I was checking out. I told her that I had called the previous night already and had been charged to stay until 2:30. She told me that wasn’t possible because the latest checkout was 1pm. I was very upset because it was 12:30pm when I received the call form the front telling me I had to leave by 1pm, when I was told otherwise the night before. I’m not from town so it was a real inconvenience to be told last minute that I had to leave earlier because I wasn’t prepared for that I would’ve appreciated to be given the correct information about what time I had to leave by. I could’ve arranged something else. If I would’ve known since the night before I would’ve prepared myself to be out of the room earlier. I tried to speak to the manager but he was on the phone busy and the girl in the front was still giving me attitude when I went downstairs before leaving(she was giving me attitude over the phone as well), so I just left. I visit Eagan often and it was my first time staying here, and it’s definitely my last time staying at this place.

I appreciated the friendliness of staff and the cleanliness of my room. Certain aspects of the guest room were updated, whereas others could use some TLC. My room could have used some fresh paint in the guest room and the bathroom would have felt more clean with updated grout work and newer shower fixtures. Otherwise I was pleased with my stay. Again - fairly clean, quiet, and good value for the price.

My overall stay was very pleasant. I spoke with the manager before arriving which was surprising to see that Management was at the front desk. I asked if I could check in early and not only did he say yes but he waived the early check in fee. I really needed to get somewhere and shower and sleep! I felt extremely accommodated during my stay, I didn’t want to go home! Breakfast superseded my expectations, rooms were very clean and tidy. It was relatively quiet and the tv channels were great with a good selection of movie channels. I asked for a late check out, check out was at noon andnnot only was I granted a one o’clock check out but the same guy was at the front desk the following morning, he suggested that I become a member and get free early check in and later check outs but get compensated for every buck I spend, I was never pestered and it felt like a home away from home. I saw how other guests interacted with him at the front desk and could see that this was the norm at this establishment. I believe his name was Terrell and although he looked tired he multitasked so much at once and handled himself in such a professional and friendly manner. A young lady can’t to relieve him that afternoon and she was just as lovely. If you want more bang for your buck, this is where you want to be! Thank you guys for the experience. I will most definitely be back!

Room was clean but bathroom tiles were loose and pinched my foot,,, grout was all busted out. No fridge in the room, neighbors fighting and screaming, smell of someone smoking dope was intermittent... not a good stay.

It was a good time I think the beds could be upgraded but the price is good and the employees very respectful and professional thanks guys
