We stayed here over the Labor Day weekend and our experience was absolutely wonderful! If you are a couple getting away or family with kids, there is something for everyone here. There are 3 swimming pools which are clean and well maintained. A recreation pass gives us access to the many games and sport activities in the resort. You can also use this pass to enjoy some fun activities at the lake like kayaking, canoeing etc. You can rent a golf cart for $20/hr and drive around this beautiful property. Just remember to make your reservations in advance because these fill up pretty quick especially on a busy weekend. They have great restaurants and a very nice pizza place. The food at the classic grille was exceptional. All the prices within the resort are very reasonable. The spa is a great place for a quick massage as well. All the staff working at this busy time were very friendly it was a very pleasant stay. Rooms were very spacious and convenient and the view is stunning but can be updated like shower curtains and beds could be a little more comfortable. All in all we loved our time here and hope to be back sometime.
We stayed for a long weekend at Maddens for the first time. The beaches were great and extremely relaxing to sun bathe or watch the sunset. We enjoyed amazing food at Mission Point for both dinners. Would definitely recommend eating outside because indoors was enjoyable but a 2 hour dinner. The room we stayed in was very outdated, needed renovations and a deep clean. Additionally we loved the recreation pass so we could do multiple different activities: golf, tennis, water bikes. So fun for active couples! We did really struggle finding where we go for all said activities though. We spent a lot of time trying to figure out where things were on the site. Signage was lacking. We found ourselves looking at the website when the front desk should have provided a welcome packet and more materials upon arrival. For example we did not know where restaurants were located based on maps or pool hours for some examples. When we did ask for directions or help, staff were very helpful.
The Classic was a beautiful, challenging, and exceptional golf course. Very different feel (in a good way) than the resort courses. Pine Beach courses are very fun, playable, and well maintained. Stayed with a group of 20 and stayed in the Golf Villas - these were perfect for group and gave us plenty of space and privacy as a group. I worked with Suzanne W, Jake W, and Glen H when planning the trip. This team was amazing to work with and thy value the customer experience above all else. Highly recommend for large outings/groups. Thanks guys!
Madden's is a wonderful resort. Our guys weekend golf trip was wonderful The rooms in the Golf Villas were large, clean and updated. Beautiful rooms! The staff around the entire resort was helpful and friendly. The Fairways restaurant was great for breakfast and dinners, but curiously closed to inside dining on Saturday night. As for golf, Madden's is average. The staff were all great. Course management was good. The Classic is as advertised. A true gem and made the entire trip to Madden's worth it. Pine East is an OK course. Some fun holes. Pine West is to dog track. Good for beginners or families that just want to play around. Overall, Madden's was a wonderful place for our weekend golf outing. Definitely worth adding to your list of Norther MN golf resorts.
We stayed at Maddens for our end of summer get away and it was fabulous. Plenty of amenities to keep us entertained and the service was wonderful. We stayed in a Voyager room. They are very comfortably sized with a great balcony overlooking the lake and the sunset each evening. We will definitely be back!
