Stephanie was my therapist, and she was awesome. I had pelvic pain and some knee issues that were possibly related and she helped me improve tremendously and strengthen my core. I was a little nervous because they use people in college to assist with performing some of the routine exercises, but Stephanie addressed my issues and we did have a lot of one-on-one time together. She is an expert in her field! I saw her over the summer, and I continue at-home exercises and I feel so much better. My gait is regular, very little pain or no pain in my pelvis.
My overall experience at Team Rehab was positive. I was a somewhat unusual case due to having multiple surgeries, which resulted in muscle atrophy. As a result I experienced difficulties reaching my established goals. My first therapist was knowledgeable and competent. In addition, she was attentive and concerned about my progress. However, after my last surgery she made a comment expressing doubt regarding my ability to reach the primary goal of therapy. The comment was discouraging and I felt very sad as a result. Due to COVID-19 and other reasons this therapist was on leave. I had some substitutes and, at one point, two therapists were available to work with me. One of the therapists asked me at least twice whether I thought that I was done with therapy. First of all, I wasn't and secondly, my readiness for terminating therapy was a decision for my doctor. The other therapist, was competent and knowledgeable. Also, she gave me some new and helpful ideas for exercises. As time progressed, I sensed frustration from the therapist. In addition, a comment was made that insurance would not pay for therapy if progress wasn't occurring. I had made progress, just not enough to suit her apparently. It wasn't my fault that I was progressing slowly. I came to every session and worked very hard at home. I just feel that a therapist should not convey frustration or irritation with a patient. The patient needs to have a sense of hope and accomplishment. In addition, the patient should never feel as if he/she is being pushed out of therapy.nI think Team Rehab in Royal Oak did an excellent job keeping themselves and the patients safe from COVID. In addition, all of the therapy assistants and the front desk staff were consistently helpful and considerate.
My sports medicine doctor wanted me to rehab at their facility but I found Team Rehabilitation close to home so I registered and started my rehab at Team Rehabilitation. Cristina, the director was my physical therapist, she is very knowledgeable and caring with her patients. Cristina and her team did an excellent job quickly getting my shoulder injury back to full motion without any pain. They are an awesome team, the facility is clean and you will enjoy your physical therapy rehab experience here. A+++++
This place was referred by my doctor for a knee injury. I went for months and did not see progress, and was misdiagnosed by their team. Once they gave me the correct diagnosis, the exercises and treatment they gave me still were not helpful in remedying the problem. After months of pain and frustration, I went to a sports medicine doctor who told me the exercises and treatment they were providing did not make sense for their diagnosis. I also spoke with another physical therapist who told me they would not have let ineffective treatment continue for months, and would have recommended me returning to my doctor. I'm very disappointed and angry I spent months of my time and money on ineffective treatment.nnAlthough the staff was nice and appointment times were punctual, the staff frequently did not tell me how to do exercises or stretch properly. If I asked where I was supposed to be feeling the exercise/stretch, then they would give me proper instruction. Definitely would not recommend.
Very busy place! Excellent staff, great results on my end. Highly recommend.
