Very poor customer service at the check out desk. I tried to return DVDs to the check out desk. I was told to put them in the book return. I said I was concerned about the DVDs and the cases being damaged in the book return. I was told rather rudely that I shouldn't concern myself with such things.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. I like the reading area, and the selection of updated magazines. I go once a week just to have some quiet time in a peaceful environment!
I was here within the Last Week and didn't like how the Librarian Treated an older African American lady and talk to her in a rude way because the lady Needed help on the Copying Machine but when a lady Asked for help the Librarian was very friendly. I notice they do the same with African American children too. Everyone should be treated the same. This white privilege stuff needs to end
I use this library all the time. The staff is always helpful. I love that they are part of a group of libraries that share books. If I can't find a book there I am able to have it sent from another. Kudos to all!
While I agree that some of the librarians are fairly helpful, the library itself is in neglect. It smells of mildew, and I think the furnishings are from the '70s, including all the dirt and stains. There are items strewn all over the areas where the patrons check out and the librarians' work areas, and it just looks unkempt, almost as if the staff gave up years ago trying to keep it neat and in order. It definitely makes me long for my old library, located in the northwest area of Oakland County, that was three times the size and where everything was neatly arrayed and clean and new.nnI generally do love libraries, but MH is so depressing that I avoid it unless I absolutely have to go to it for something.
