You can't help but feel Ace stores and also the strip mall it shares with CVS could do with a bit of sprucing up - especially given it's proximity on the edge of downtown with new developments all around it. Having said that - the staff here is always very friendly and helpful and pricing is always competitive enough to where it makes enough sense to go here vs the big boys when you need something quick.nnEdit: bonus points for the response to my original review by the owners. Shows how much they care about being appreciated by the community!

I stopped in to pick up a few items — they were super busy. Justin and Derek were helpful and kind. They were super efficient and got me on my way promptly. I had a curbside order that they were able to help me with right away. So friendly and nice! :)

We always shop here, especially because we live down the street, but also because the staff is always amazing. They have a variety of items and always exactly what I’m looking for. As a woman shopping in a hardware store, I’m always pleased to see a lot of women on staff. Today, Brian helped me find what I needed and was quick to get me more information about a management contact for the store. Thanks Great Lakes Ace, keep up the good work!
