Really nice nature trail. Crushed gravel and no hills on the main trail. Good access for a baby stroller and maybe a wheelchair with some difficulty. First day of spring and we saw a woodpecker and a chipmunk.
Nice! Right down the road. Perfect little hike for us and our dogs after work.
This is an excellent preserve! It's accessible and has wide dolomite paths on the birding trail. There are two benches and an informational panel at the entrance and near one of the benches. The blue arrow/dots direct you onto the rustic trail that does house a third cement bench. The bird trail is completely flat, there are no hills and it's regularly trimmed and groomed with branch removal. I can't wait to try snowshoeing here. The rustic trail has some pits, ravines and roots but if watch your step you'll be fine. It takes 30-40 minutes on a slow pace to finish the main groomed trail and an additional 20 to do the rustic trail. There are no bathrooms and the parking is free. It is a low traffic and safe feeling small preserve.
A very well-maintained trail in a low-traffic area. Only once have I seen anyone else walking the trail, which right now is just over a mile long. There is a less-maintained expansion of the trail, which I anticipate will be officially cleared and marked fully pretty soon. At the moment the extension trail is still walkable, but doesn't have the full amenities of the already existing trail (like a handicap accessible width and flatness, benches, etc.).nnIt's extremely beautiful and quiet in this area. The fall colors are some of the best West Michigan has to offer, and the openness from a recent controlled burn of the forest is host to glowing new trees, new plants and greenery in the spring, and a wide open view deep into the woods, where you can see all types of wildlife. There's even an informational board explaining the different types of birds in the various tree canopy areas.nnThere is more parking than necessary, including reserved spaces for handicapped trail goers. It's a great place to get away by yourself, with a friend, or the whole family without being around a crowd. 10/10!
Nice easy, clean and clear trail.
