My husband was at St. Lukes Hospital with Covid and was very sick. When he recovered enough to move him we wanted him to go to Regency to continue recovering. The first week was rough and he was sedated and not doing much. By the third week I could see a big change in him and he wanted to fight. He had a goal and he knew he needed to work hard and had it in his mind that he was going to be ok. Cheryl in therapy was amazing, she is the best and helped, along with others, to get him walking again. In the last week or two therapy really pushed him and he now is going home. I really appreciated the phone updates everyday from Jason when visitation wasn't open up yet. A few people I would like to mention is Rachel, RN - she is a travel nurse and just the best. Also Brittany, RN and Holly Igo were great. I do also want to say that while he was at St. Lukes, Dr. Ruiz and his team there were amazing and pulled my husband out of dark times, they saved his life.

I was at Regency Hospital this past February after a bout of pneumonia. I was really sick and the doctors had to put a trach in and I was on a ventilator to help me breathe. My family made the decision to go to Regency to help me get better and off of the ventilator. My wife and I both think that this is the best place there is, all the staff were amazing and they were great to me. I couldn’t talk when I was on the ventilator at first but by the time I was ready to leave I was off the vent and I could talk again. I’ll never forget when I was able to talk to my daughter the first time, Jordan one of the nurses, handed me the phone and I was able to say hi to her. I never got a chance to thank him for that and I just want him to know how much that meant to me. The day I was being discharged one of the aides held my hand out the door and didn’t want me to leave that also meant a lot to me. I have been home since May and can eat regular food, I also take and pick my grandson up from school. I am very grateful to the staff at Regency for helping me.

I heard that Regency Hospital of Toledo was a place that you go to wait and die, I had a friend here a couple years ago who said they pressed their call light and it took 2 hours for a nurse to come help him. When I was offered a choice to come to Regency I thought I am going to make up my own mind when I get there. I am so happy that I chose to do that, because if I did not know any better, the treatment I received here is as if I was royalty. As soon as I got here, I had to press my call button for the nurse, and before I could even put the remote down, she was here, it was almost instant. I have been at other facilities, and something that they always overlook, is my insulin. I am not a new diabetic and I require a lot of insulin, at Regency they were on the ball, they listened to me and got my insulin adjusted to my scale right away. There is not one exception, the nurses, radiology techs, pharmacy, aides, everyone has gone out of their way to help me, even the CEO, Gary has been extraordinary and involved. One nurse is a cut above the rest, and her name is Sarah Johnson, she is nothing less than superb. She goes out of her way to help, she is intelligent, very caring and she is all that she can be, being a nurse is her calling. I would highly recommend this place, and when I drive by here I will totally look at it in another light. The care that I have gotten could not have been better. Thank you Regency!

I was at Promedica Toledo Hospital with Covid -19 pneumonia and I had to have a trach placed and was on a ventilator to breathe for me.nThen I was transferred to Regency Hospital. I remember Cheryl from Therapy was just super, one day I was choking and she came in to help me. She also helped me shave my beard while I was here.nNow I don't need the ventilator anymore and my trach was removed. Candace, the CEO brought me ice cream to eat and she brought me board games to play.nI really liked Haley and Jordan, RN's. They were very nice and really good nurses.nI look forward to eventually getting a haircut when I get home from rehab. Also when I get home my son said he will take me to Dietz's in Findlay for chocolate shakes and my girlfriend said she wants to have a party for me.

In April I started to just not feel well, I had a cough that wouldn’t go away and a bad headache for about a week. I went to the hospital and was diagnosed with COVID-19. I am 89 years old and this was one of those things that I thought would happen to someone else but not to me. I was on a high amount of oxygen and my family and I chose to go to Regency Hospital to continue my care. It took me a while but I finally am feeling better and improving with each passing day. The respiratory therapists helped me to get off of the high flow oxygen and now I am only on a small amount and can breathe so much better. PT/OT helped me so I could walk again with a walker and I am grateful. The food here is very good too. I wanted to mention an aide who helped me shave and cut my hair, her name was Jessica, she was so nice and patient with me. I am going to be going home from here and I recommend Regency hospital to anyone who needs this kind of care.
