I think it's really cool that they put this in,. The kayak launch is great. It does get a little hairy when coming in though and there are people fishing from the dock, most will reel in there lines and even give you a hand though. The kayak launch itself is great once you get in there. I have a 12ft kayak and I have to do a little angling to get it to fit due to the ramp being off center to the kayak launch. But it really isn't and issue. Still a hell of alot better than walking through mud to get on my kayak.
Nice little park. The paddle boat launch is not too handicap friendly though.
I will try the launch next summer. The parking area could use some work and the area in the trees is low - lying and was flooded. It would be nice to have some refinement...
Another great addition to Chesterfield! Family friendly kayak/paddleboard launch on the Salt River. You have to check it out!
Looked like a great place to launch but that was about it. Seven people in chairs fishing on the dock. No way to access the launch. Will try again soon.
