It's a long haul around the whole loop, and I'd recommend doing it counter-clockwise, so that you come back down off the peak of Frye on the way out. The posted milage may be a little conservative, but it's mostly pretty easy walking.nThe most amazing things about the loop are the stone walls and other stone works. It's an incredible amount of work that was put in, all by hand. They're everywhere, and the trail gives you a good sense of the history of the area, if you pause to take it in.nThe other thing the trail does a great job of is to walk you through some pretty distinct types of forest - there are mammoth oaks and pines, and you get to see them all.

Very hilly. A challenge for a driving horse. Beautiful day

Nice wooded hike. Not much for views.
