So grateful that this area exists! There is a parking lot that can be accessed all day, every day! If you enjoy star watching, you want to head to the designated dark sky area. Not certain what Bortel scale this location has been assigned, but you can see the milkyway from here! There are no facilities in the area. Main park entrance does have open out houses. Stop there first before heading to the dark sky lot. Take bug spray. The mosquitoes are beasts!! Very remote location. Great site to view meteor showers.

All this is for is fishing from boats and duck hunting. No mowed hiking trails. Seems to much is spent on to little.

There was hardly anyone out there in Sept-oct. Paved road with launch areas for some lakes. Well maintained. Good kayaking. You're on your own out there. Bring friends.no hiking trails per se but there are a lot of gated trails for authorized vehicles only which can be hiked for excellent bird watching.

Mazonia is a break away from the norm. If you enjoy searching for treasure check this place out!
