Before covid adjustments, many of the displays had interactive features. Most of the natural history exhibits contain information to describe the various plants and animals for each time epoch. The Native American habitats of Illinois is a walk through time with interesting details demonstrating the progress of humanity. The exhibit ends at 1850. Assume what you like. The museum offers concise looks at a variety of topics to start your own discussions.

This place is very nice to visit!!! It is very educational. At least for me it was, even during COVID 19 pandemic. And the best part is, it is FREE!!! They will measure your temperature prior entering the museum and of course face masks are required as well. After all, we are still in the middle of the COVID 19 pandemic, so please do not be surprised. It is worth trying out, if you visit the capital city of Springfield in Illinois.

A small free museum with a few well done exhibits. Be sure to donate if you have the means.

A great way to spend a couple hours. Even in the pandemic with several exhibits not functioning, it was a good time and I learned a few things I didn't know before.

The museum was pretty interesting, but due to COVID many of the interactive things were not in service. We also were hoping for a gift shop and they don't have one. I would love to see the museum do some updates and add some new exhibits.
