My favorite spot in the Matthiessen State Park! It’s not far by walking from the parking lot in the dell area and choosing the lower dells trail. Once you cross the bridge, need to go further down along the lower dell trail and see the stairs going down into the valley. It could be pretty icy and slippery during the winter, but the view definitely worth it. Highly recommended!

Remotely placed in a quiet forest with waterfalls, lakes, and caves. This charming park is less than two hours from Chicago and only few minutes from the Starved Rock. Well worth visiting. Some trails may be wet, so be prepared. At least 300 steps each way, more of you choose to visit more sections. Nature lovers great escape. Take lots of pictures and have a good time.

It's an amazing place. So calm and relaxing place. Waterfall is not too big but not too small as well. Place is leas popular may be or I went in that time but with just couple of people there you can really enjoy the calmness of nature that it provides. Mjst visit if you love nature

Amazing view with waterfall and bridge over it. As it was December waterfall was transitioning into ice-fall which made even more beautiful
