City of Elmhurst Police Department

I called the police to help me get into my car tonight. My car always stays unlocked the key hole is broken and someone had to have gone inside and locked it. The police officer did not believe me and told me that I had been drinking. I did not smell like alcohol and the only thing that made the officer think I was drunk was because I was mad about being locked out of my car which wasn’t even my fault. I am 17 years old and had just gotten off work I explained to the officer multiple times that I had not used any drugs or alcohol. I told him he could go speak with my manager and ask him what I was doing tonight. The officer continued to harass me asking me questions about if I drink and the last time I had drank. He also performed some field sobriety tests which I did perfectly but that was not enough for them. Once again I am 17 years old and do not drink. I called the police to help and they were treating me like a criminal even though I had done nothing wrong. I agreed to a breathalyzer because I was tired of being accused and not believed and blew 000... twice... because “It didn’t work the first time,” after a half hour of being accused the officers finally believed I wasn’t drunk and began to try and help me getting my car unlocked. They were not able to get the car unlocked and left. I then had to throw a rock at my window and break it to get in my car. The police officers also damaged my door and interior. Extremely disappointed in how I was treated by the people that are supposed to help you in a situation like this. Also he told me I couldn’t call him dude which is 100% legal. These sovereign citizens need to be retrained in actually helping people instead of harassing them for no reason.

I called the Elmhurst police department to do a drive by for my grandsons 5 th birthday. He has cancer and his parents are both frontline nurses. They said NO. No compassion, care, or love for their community during this crisis obviously!!

Police officers in this town are out of control.they think they don’t have to abide by the law. I’ve heard of police trespassing , making unwarranted traffic stops and unlawful search and seizures. They definitely need to replace most of the cops in the department and clean it up

Officer mark was super quick to unlock my out of my car and very pleasant to deal with!
