Great affordable Theatre, very old world really dated decor, comfortable seats, but the refreshments cost a bomb

In the 1950s the York was my favorite theater. We lived in Northlake. When I was 12-14 years old my parents would let me and my friend Jimmie Allen take the bus to see our favorite 50s sci-fi films at the Saturday Matinee. Admission was 14 cents. Then we moved back to Florida and I have never been back. Great memories. I am now 76 years old.

I've been going to York Theatre since I was a little kid. I fell out of love with it sometime during college, but now that they've redone their screens, amazing chairs, and most especially the fantastic sound, I've been going again and will be going to York above all other theatres in the area.nThe tech of this theatre (at least screens 1 and 2 which is everything I've seen in the last little while) is superb. Fantastic detailed screen with great contrast, comfortable reclining leatherette sofas that have adjustable headrests and built in heating, and the stellar sound systems that can shake your jaw bone make every movie a joy to watch.nHighly recommend.

This theater is great! They offer free refills on all sizes of popcorn and $5 Tuesdays. Last time I was there I noticed they put in heated recliners, which are lovely. The theater does not have dedicated parking so get there a little early in case you have to park across the street.

I went there for the fist time yesterday afternoon and was surprised on the service. Very nice people and professional. Very clean theater and great seats. I think I like them more than AMC red chairs.nnAt the end of the movie. I came down to find a nice surprise. Someone standing there offering mints for everyone. What a nice touch to a great movie.nnI will be coming back. Thank you for the great experience.
