Friday afternoon you were called to a beauty parlor on lake st because a woman passed out. That woman was my wife and when the beautician came running out to my truck and told me my wife had passed out I was not really surprised as I had heard the siren and seen the Fire ambulance pull up. When I walked in and saw my wife in the chair she looked like something from outer space, she had aluminum foil things in her hair and the chemical smell alone was enough to knock ya out. I saw the back of my wife’s sweatshirt already marked with sweat. The EMTs or I think they were EMTs we’re busily taking vital signs and even one commented that her vitals were better than his. One of the firefighters, or EMTs who I assumed was in charge asked the beautician (Angie) if she could get those things out of my wife’s hair because my wife continued to claim dizziness and being very shaky and inability to breath especially With the mask on. It was felt best to transport her to the hospital to get checked BUT not with her hair adorned for outer space. The beautician went into SUPER FAST MODE and removed all the hardware, your guys helped my wife to a sink where her head was quickly shampooed, she was again with your men’s help walked back to the chair where her hair was blow dried and THEN she was loaded on a gurney and transported to Elmhurst Hospital where after several hours and many many test it was determined that poor diet that day, temperature in the shop, breathing in a mask, chemical smell of hair treatments, having been in a rush, all combined to cause her anxiety. In conclusion I’ve got to compliment the whole crew that responded to this call, their patience and understanding while obviously being in an unusual environment was beyond exceptional and whoever was in charge should be very proud of this group.nnI thank you very muchnFrank Hoffmann530 Mitchell avenElmhurst [email protected]
