Great forest preserve in Northbrook. Nature center with coyotes, owls, and even a bald eagle was a great touch!
It's pretty great in winter but warm weather brings out everyone and their issues & summer brings out all the rif-raf. I go every day & usually find it peaceful and not crowded.

Nice quiet clean place nice trails to walk on
Nice place with animals in cages to look at. All animals are disabled or rescued that wouldn't otherwise survive in the wild. Nice walking trails. Spaces for little kids outside in the garden as well as a play area inside. The museum style interior has fish, turtles and some birds and snakes on small scale displays. Very cool place that we happened upon.
