Went to the restaurant they opened in Hazel Crest. Customer service was excellent (only reason I gave a star). I ordered 3 meals. The meal I ordered for myself was the smothered pork chops, Mac and cheese, and sweet potatoes. I’m not gone get into details but it was terrible in my opinion. Should have went with my first mind and went to Prisilla’s. Also $6.00 for peach cobbler. My first and last time.

I liked my third trip here.nnI walked in and a seated group I presume was the ownership/family greeted me and others immediately.nnParking was limited due to overflow from the funeral home next door.nnI ordered the short ribs, yams/sweet potatos, and greens.nnI work for the City of Country Club Hills so I hoped the portions were large (at least the entree) and it definitely was. In total I spent 26 or 27 for the meal. That is just not representative of all options or meal combinations for price evaluation. If I had to rank by scales: Meal quality was an 8 out of 10 (really wanted more Yams but I do like the hard plastic containers they use now), Service/Hospitality was a 9 of 10 (The various greetings were a pleasant surprise) and the Cost is 7/10 (I understand the price but who doesn't wish it was lower).nnIf TL;DR: I'd recommend eatingnhere. But the price mightndissuade some people.nTry the short ribs.

I went with a small group of my family. Most of the staff was very friendly and accommodating to provide substitutes for my request because they were out. I ordered fried chicken legs, and greens with macaroni and cheese plus peach cobbler for dessert.nnThe chicken was seasoned well and was juicy, the mac was okay, but the greens... Oh boy! They were cooked to the perfect texture, but was over-salted so I couldn't eat them. The cornbread muffins were great. The peach cobbler was tasty, but in my opinion overpriced at $6.00.nnMy family enjoyed the chicken, cabbage and sweet potatoes so with all things being considered I'll definitely go back and give Ruby's another try.
