No words I have can convey my family's gratitude for Spencer and the entire staff at Leak and Sons. We actually switched from a white owned funeral home to theirs as we weren't feeling the dignity, respect, and care that both we and our loved one deserved. Every single individual we interacted with was yes professional, but beyond that they were kind and sincere. The owner, to the reception, to the make-up artist, to the director assigned of our service. This is a funeral home for all, but black and brown people, the cultural awareness and kindness is a must.

My family have been using this funeral home sense the 1970s . I just recently planed my mother's service with them. I am not happy. Judy Taylor's started out helping me with the process ,but after that first time we didn't see Judy again. Any concerns we had she had the receptionist to address them, I feel that you should deal with a family from beginning to end. A family friend had two flowers sent for the service they were not there the day of the service.when asked about the flowers I was told by a lady on the phone the service is over now why the concern with flowers. I get my mother death certificate and the date of death is 8 days before she actually passed. I do realize that funeral homes are busy because of the amount of deaths from the covid 19 but every family should be treated like they are your only customer at a time like this. I want say don't use them ,but I will say ask question be careful and don't go with the first funeral home look around before making a decision. The best thing about my experience was the young lady at the front desk she was always pleasant and polite.

Leak and son need some work my mother passed away my sister and I decided to go with leak and son my sister went to make the arrangements she spoke with Judy on the first day only to not see Judy any more from family’s point if you start out with a family you need to finish a not pass them off to other workers like the receptionist Now it the day of the viewing and they have my mom in the repast room because they have some many families The next day it’s her service and I get there and notice my mom only has one flower there were two flowers that were delivered for her two days before that she never received and when asked about her flowers we were told the service is over now A week later was receive her death certificate only to have her death date eight days before she passed Please work on customer service and the document handling my only good experience was with the receptionist she needs to be promoted she was very hands on great customer service

We have used Leak & Sons for the home-going services of my Brother back in 2010, as well as the recent home-going services of my mom in Novermber of 2019. In both cases, the Leak family was highly professional, caring and empathetic. Spencer Leak Jr kept in constant communication with me during the process, and the funeral director Rosina was highly professional, and worked with us on various options. Elder Roberts showed motherly care and empathy through the whole process. I would not hesitate to use them again.
