Went for the mummy exhibit, which was great! Spacious and clean with a very friendly staff. A lot of Mobile history inside the museum. I feel like once you've seen it once that's all you'll need, unless they keep bringing in guest exhibits, which I hope they do. Cheap admission. Located in downtown Mobile...I suggest venturing in the area. It's gorgeous.
This is an interesting place--and very affordable as museums go. It is small though. It makes up for it's diminutive size with a lot of subjects and local focus. They pack a lot for it's size. Would I go back though? Probably not. But it is worth checking out while in town.
We went to see the Egyptian Mummies and Eternal Life exhibit. On display until June 27, 2021. It was very cool. How many people can say they have seen a real Egyptian mummy!! Loved the whole exhibit with real mummies and ancient artifacts. Would definitely recommend!!! We then ventured to all the other museum exhibits. They were all fun. Miniature Doll Houses, Horse drawn carriages, dresses worn by Mardi Queens, War artifacts plus much more. Great time.
A must-see. For $10 I spent about 2.5 hours looking at all of the interesting displays. The organization and layout are very well done. I especially liked the temporary display of history through 20 items. Entrance to the fort across the street is included. Well worth a visit.
The History Museum of Mobile has really steeped their game up in the recent years...out standing exhibits. Worth visiting if you are a local or visitor. Cool thing is if you pay for Museum then you get access to historic Fort Conde' too...need to check it all out!
