In 2016 our house underwent a major renovation done by Sherman Homes. The construction was accomplished in a very timely manner. We trusted the subcontractors who provided the work which was especially important as some of it had to happen while we were in another state. All of the crews were friendly and efficient. The final cost was very close to original budget and we feel we got excellent value for our money. Mr. Sherman is a good communicator and easily accessible. We were very pleased with the final product and currently he is developing a bigger project in a different part of the house.
Brady Sherman and the staff that comes out to work on your home are outstanding. From the decision making process to the execution of our project, we couldn’t be happier. Our project manager, Michael, was very involved and present during the experience. We were given the necessary guidance from Michael and Brady to make important decisions.
The final product is world class. The additions we made to our home look as if they were are part of the original construction, but add a custom layer of functionality and beauty that my wife and I are ecstatic about.
If you have a custom project for your home, look no further than Sherman homes.
Brady and his crew at Sherman Homes did a great job remodeling my duplex in Sugar House. Since it is a rental property, I gave Brady a pretty tight budget and schedule which he was able to meet. The quality of work, communication, and coordination throughout the process was great. I will definitely work with Sherman Homes again, and will recommend them to a friend.
Our remodel with Sherman Homes went so poorly that we are unable to recommend this contractor.
If considering Sherman Homes, consult a lawyer, conduct more research, and be prepared to leverage your attorney throughout your relationship with owner, Brady Sherman. If you are building from afar, there are even more reasons to consider another contractor because Sherman Homes will take extreme advantage of your absence.
Please note that the Sherman Hayden company mentioned in the other reviews is no longer. The reliable and professional Hayden, who you read about in the reviews, has split from Brady. The new company of Sherman Homes, run by Brady, is what you get.
Our $300,000+ contracted remodel included poor job oversight, inaccurate estimation, unqualified workers, poor trust between Sherman Homes and subs, multiple contract violations by Sherman Homes, significant and repetitive billing errors, frequent unmet promises, and a 4-month project delivered in 8 months, with reduced responsiveness at the point when future revenue from our job, in comparison to newly landed projects, did not justify Brady’s attention nor responsive delivery of services.
If Brady says either “If we make a mistake, we will make things right” or “I will increase my attention so that we make fewer errors moving forward”, realize he is lying, and the client needs to focus more attention on reviewing Sherman Homes’ work and holding Sherman Homes accountable.
Sherman Homes has a culture of arrogance that begins with the owner, Brady, and extends to his office staff and project managers. Several subs on our project approached us to bring to our attention the extensive mismanagement of our project and how poorly we were being treated. These subs stated that they experienced negative impact to their own businesses due to Sherman Homes' disorganized project management, and several said that as a result of the negative impact to their own businesses, they will not work with Sherman Homes again. At the end of our project we had to withhold payment and hire an attorney because Brady refused to produce proof of sub payment and lien waivers. Upon analysis of his employee timecard data, we discovered significant time gaps on our project where no one from Sherman Homes showed up on site for 3 weeks at a time.
We do not want anyone to experience what we experienced, nor be treated with the disrespect that we were shown by Sherman Homes, and therefore cannot recommend this contractor. Note that these statements above can all be proven, and they represent only the most significant of breaches by Sherman Homes, with many other impacts (financial, emotional, and logistical) not shared in this review for purposes of brevity.
Five stars is not enough. Perfect for the out-of-town owner!
My wife and I purchased a condo in Old Town Park City that was build in 1982 and had been rented. It was a 1982 time capsule! Due to its nice size and location, we decided to gut the unit, open up the floor plan and add more contemporary features such as a washer/dryer, more closets and jet/massage tub for after skiing.
Hayden was referred to us by a friend who was a prior customer. Hayden was easy to work with and accommodated all of our design objectives and decisions, providing us with a price that I found to be very reasonable. More importantly, throughout the demo and construction, he handled every challenge that came along without coming back with change requests or increasing the price. The workman ship was very good and if something needed taken care of, Hayden was on it without me having to ask. We now have a condo in a perfect location that is as nice or nicer than any of the new, high-end construction units in the Park City/Deer Valley area.
Being from east coast, having such an intense project going on so far away has significant risks. Hayden managed all those risks for us and delivered the unit of our dreams on the original budget that we agreed to. We could not be happier and were blessed that our friend had recommended Hayden. Hayden will be our contractor on any future projects that we take on in the Park City/Deer Valley area without a doubt. We can't thank him enough for such a wonderful experience!
