Staff aboard ship, admission area and gift shop were very cheerful, knowledgeable & helpful.nAlabama is well kept, well marked for guest accessibility and the self tours are easily to follow.nMost of the ship is accessible to the public; there were a few areas being painted and not open but had little negative affect on our interests.nIt's obvious that much thought, planning and consideration went into preparing her for public enjoyment.nA must see if you are interested in WWII Naval History, WWII or U.S. history in general. Would surelynrecommend and return.

We had a fantastic day visiting the Battleship Memorial. I was in complete awe of the vast size of the USS Alabama. We toured the USS Drum (submarine) first and its tiny spaces then moved to the battleship. Take the time to follow each tour route and the numbers. People that had disregard for this caused back ups as they were going backwards. A welcoming retired serviceman provided us with our route maps. On the yellow tour is a theater with an informational video on the USS Alabama. It was great to hear from the men that served on the vessel. Parking was $4. There is a AAA discount that we took advantage of. It was way busier in the afternoon. We arrived at 10:30 and left by 1:15pm. That was plenty of time to see it all. The B-52 was a nice surprise too.

I've seen the Wisconsin and North Carolina so being in the area this was a must see. At 680' it was not as big as North Carolina (730') or Wisconsin ( whopping 887') but it was still great going through the ship and seeing how the men lived in the different compartments. Unlike a couple of the others you could not get onto the bridge and look out the front but still good tour. Only negative is that although some were posted they could do a better job putting placards up explaining what some of the rooms were used for.

A worthwhile stop I would encourage everyone to make. Plan it out to spend some time there if you can. $4.00 entrance fee to the park. Another fee for the Alabama and drum tour to include a blackbirds. Great history to be told here. 3 generations enjoyed the visit today from my family.

Great place to see some of the tools America has used to defend herself and other nations. Be sure to plan several hours of you want to see it all. The battleship has a good set by numbers that is helpful to keep you on track. Lots of climbing steep stairs, so wear comfortable shoes. The ship is in great shape and the displays were very nice. The submarine has only one entrance. You then walk the length of it inside and emerge from the other end. Steep Steps getting in and narrow passageway throughout. You have to negotiate several narrow bulkhead doors that have a high step and low opening. It was very quick in comparison to the battleship tour. There is a gift shop, but the snack bar was closed. Either eat just prior to coming or even better, bring a picnic. There are drink vending machines. They have many airplanes on display both indoors absolutely surrounding the parking area. There were a few tanks and vehicles as well. The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird is amazing to see in person. Great time.
