Poor first impression, No Compassion for answering the phone much less patient care. This is, by far one of the worst reception teams I have ever encountered, waited over 3 months with initial exam, forwarded all previous MRI’s and comprehensive records of previous care from pain block records to intermittent routine care. Once established, we couldn’t get scheduled due to the insurance dragging their feet, offered to pay out of pocket, then put off again, then CoVid hit, now in excruciating pain and immobility they can’t see me for another 2 weeks and want another MRI it’s a joke. No preliminary care or physical therapy or even a 10 second conversation for what to do in this emergency. I called back just to ask if we went to Russell ER would there be any other Orthopedic attending? If it were to only be Dr Howorth then we’d drive into Birmingham for emergency care just to NOT have to deal with this mans office staff, but of course, April , being the mind reader she is, cut me off 3 times during my first sentence to make it known that Judy handles all block calls - all block appointments and all money problems referring to pain block procedures!!! Then Hey April , maybe you shouldn’t answer the phone and better yet if you do, you might want to stop trying to push the patient over to Judy so fast that you don’t even know the question being asked and what exactly can you help with since you are the greeter and line of first communication representing your office. Heads up, don’t go, they don’t care and have no compassion, I don’t know about the actual physician because I’d drive over 2 hours just to not deal with his staff!!! A very upset wife of a patient, but probably more so an appalled corporate operations manager with over 25 years in hospital administration.
