Wonderful place to swim. The temperature stays consistent all year round so it's warm in the winter and refreshing in the hot summer. There is a lot of seaweed and algae in the pool but it's not bothersome. A single lap from the marker is 1/8 a mile. Watch out for the swimming ducks.
This is an awesome place to get some workout done by swimming in long nature spring water. Water is just perfect to swimming ud83cudfca♀ufe0f. This is a perfect time to visit because it's not crowded and the pass is free for now. I can imagine it's gonna be crowded in the summer time. The view of the Austin downtown from the spring pool is amazing as well please check out my pictures.
The best place for a public swim in the city, Barton Springs Municipal Pool has an amazing view of the greenbelt and the skyline. I highly recommend going an hour before sunset; the pool looks gorgeous and vibrant in twilight. Not to mention, the staff's process for letting folks in during COVID-19 has been super safe and easy to follow.
There’s usually a long line to get in on a nice day out but it’s worth it. The pool is clean, there are lifeguards on duty, it’s more family friendly, and people are respectful inside. If you don’t want to wait in a long line, there’s a creek side that the pool empties out into that usually draws a crowd of people there with no lines or waiting or rules to abide by. That side is more ideal for people that want to lounge around and not swim and usually partake in other activities. There was a dj playing music over there? ud83eudd37ud83cudffb♂ufe0f anyways this pool is natural spring water and goes up to about 15 feet deep on one side. There’s two access points to the pool once inside, one being stairs and a flat walkway surface, the other being a jagged rock hike around the other side of the pool, both are nice if you are up for a small hike.
If you love swimming this will be your new favorite pool. If it’s 95 the waters gonna be perfect. Never been to a cooler fresh water pool before. Most unique Austin experience.
