Staff was very attentive. The front desk was very helpful and polite even as they were busy. They answered all my questions and made the experience easy and took care of me in a timely manner. Parking was a bit tight but I found extra parking in the back of the building. Plenty of spaces.

Highly recommend this clinic if you don’t have health insurance. I’ve paid a lot more at other emergency clinics. All the techs & nurses were very kind, the front desk was professional, & the doctor took care of me swiftly but with great care. I was pretty nervous because I had to get stitches, but everyone made me feel more at ease. I’m glad the emergency clinic down the street sent me to Concentra.

Went in for my renewal of my DOT Medical card. Everything went smoothly, great staff and nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place to others.

I went here for an evaluation for new employment. I arrived around 10:30-10:40am, and was there until 1:30pm. It took so long! I heard the receptionist telling people on the phone to estimate a wait of about 20-30 minutes, maybe an hour if they were busy, but I was there for close to 3. The staff were pleasant, I don’t have any complaints there, but three hours felt so outside the realm of reason. I also work for an Urgent Care style clinic, so I know that waits can’t really be anticipated, but I also felt somewhat mislead that this anticipated wait was actually hours off. This was probably at least partially contributed to by the fact that Door Dash Delivered a huge, catered meal right at 11, and the team appeared to be cycling to enjoy this for the next 2 hours (again, I get it. There aren’t a lot of nice things about working in an Urgent Care so reward your staff when you can!) but I strongly feel that shouldn’t have extended the wait for the three hours it took. So, ultimately, it is what it is. Concentra does almost all the pre-employment screenings for Austin Jobs, so you when inevitably are assigned to go here for a screening, plan ahead and mKe a day of it. Stake it out with breakfast tacos and a mimosa like it’s the line for ACL or Franklin’s BBQ.nnOn a side note, in the time of corona, that place was way too dusty/grimy for me to believe any actual cleaning has been done there in several years. Luckily, they provide copious amount of hand sanitizer I guess.

TL;DR:nThe entire experience was a comedy of errors. The staff were unprepared for an appointment scheduled two weeks out. The primary doctor I interacted with was apathetic and repeatedly audibly sighed during my exam. Five people tried a total of twelve times to take my blood without a single successful draw.nnLong version:nI went to the Concentra on S Lamar for a pre-employment screening organized by my employer. They were totally unprepared for my appointment. When I checked in, the two women working the front couldn't find any record of my appointment until they dug through a drawer full of opened but unread mail behind the desk. In this drawer they discovered a nearly 25 page packet that covered my entire medical history in great detail. I would have liked to receive and complete the packet prior to my appointment instead of 20 minutes after my arrival.nnAfter checking in, a nurse ran me through a series of vision and hearing tests. I don't remember her name, but she was small, blonde and had a great attitude.nnAfter these initial tests, three different nurses tried and failed to take a blood sample four times. After the fourth failed attempt, I asked to take a break, proceed with the other exams, and come back to the blood work at the end.nnThe doctor who came in to perform the remaining exams was incredibly apathetic and repeatedly sighed as he read through my medical history and the list of tests he was to perform. His attitude did not improve through the rest of our interactions, and after performing the other exams he asked another doctor who was walking past to finish his paperwork for him. The other doctor refused the request on the grounds that he wasn't the one who performed the tests and as such wouldn't sign his name to them.nnOnce the last exam was completed, a fourth and final nurse came in to try to take my blood. After two more failed attempts involving a blood pressure cuff applied tightly enough to bruise my arm, she gave up and recommended I go to another facility in their network such as ANY NEARBY RANDALL'S.nnI left that facility thoroughly dissatisfied with the experience and decided to try the S 1-35 location the following day. At the I-35 facility, a nurse tried and failed another 6 times to take my blood at which point I tapped out.nnAfter these experiences, I have no faith in the Concentra organization, and I won't return to either location.
