Stopped by to ask about a cruise out of Galveston. Door was locked during normal business hours. Lady came to door and asked “ what do you want” with door cracked open wide enough to talk out of. I told her I was interested in a cruise out of Galveston. She said immediately “ Carnival Cruise?” I said “I suppose if that’s out of Galveston” She replied “We don’t do Carnival Cruises” I said “ So you don’t do cruises?” She then said “we’re by appointment only and we don’t do Carnival Cruises.” What a fricking joke for a cruise travel agency. They must be some sort of front for drugs, money laundering or some sort of illegal activity to be that rude to customers.

I visited this agency yesterday afternoon (Monday at about 2:00), looking to just talk with someone about cruising for the first time. Upon walking up, I attempted to open the door, and it was locked! (Yes, it was during normal business hours, and yes, there were agents sitting at their desks.). Luckily an agent noticed. She didn’t say anything along the lines of Sorry about being locked out, but she did invite me to come in. Ok. Whatever. It was a rather cold experience to be fully honest. Nothing special at all about this place or the people who work there.nnIn conversation I was asking about Carnival Cruiseline, since several of our friends have cruised on them and had a great time. This agent’s response was “We don’t do Carnival.” I also wanted to see what prices were like, and she priced out one out of Galveston on Royal Caribbean. She assumed I wanted to drive to the nearest port since it’d be my first time, and she didn’t get into how the price was broken up. I could’ve done that myself from Royal Caribbean’s website. I told her at one point I didn’t want any brochures, just to talk, and she went and grabbed two anyways. After our talk, she said she needed to get back to her email. Um, I’m sorry. You could have told me something like “I’ll be with you in just a moment. Let me finish this first, so I can give you my undivided attention.” I would of course been happy to wait, but whatever. I probably should have called ahead.nnNo wonder they had the door locked! They were busy. ud83dude44ud83dude44ud83dude44ud83dude44. And they don’t want new business off the street.nnIf you’re looking into a cruise on Carnival, don’t even bother coming here.
