It is really hard to not be able to go into the vet with you pet, but Dr. Lewis called and went over her whole assessment. She also answered all of my questions thoroughly. The techs and staff were knowledgeable and professional as well. I’m glad that I made a further drive to get my beloved furbaby good care. I will be taking all of my animals here.

I will NEVER bring either of my cats back to this office. If I could give negative stars, I would. I brought my kitten in for a spay, understanding that this is a common procedure. I choose this place, originally, because the reviews were ‘seemingly’ great and we had originally taken her there when we rescued her. I, first, had to argue with the receptionist about whether she had leukemia bloodwork done (as we have a 13 year old male cat, it was one of the first things we had done). Finally, she was able to ‘find it’. Then when asking about whether to get the other blood work done, we were only told ‘its recommended, not required’ over and over. No information on what it was, whether she needed it, what would happen if we did or didn’t do it. We decided to do the blood work anyway because we just wanted her to be safe and comfortable. We spent close to $400 on the spay, rabies and bloodwork which was fine, the money was worth it for her to be taken care of. Afterwards, she was sent home with two pills of onsior and a spaced out paper of after care instructions. When asked ‘what if she licks at the stitches’, we were just told ‘oh, its uncommon’. Nothings was given to us to help prevent her from doing so. The only instructions given on the paper were ‘calls us if this happens’. Of course, it did on Monday when the roads were iced over (I’m in no way faulting them for the weather as we also went out of power for hours). We had to take her to an emergency clinic twice to be stapled and given pain medication and antibiotics which costs us another $250(again, the money was worth it for her to be healthy). When I called and spoke to the office manager about how I felt even this ‘uncommon’ situation could’ve been avoided had we been given better instructions, or a preventive measure to ensure we didn’t have to be in this ‘uncommon’ situation, their true colors came out. She was completely condescending on the phone saying ‘well, im sorry your little kitty pulled her stitches out’. Please, don’t mistake her for actually meaning that apology because the tone was beyond demeaning. She also said cats will lick at their stitches. Wait, I thought that was ‘uncommon’? She said if I wanted the ‘preventative measures’ I could’ve came back in for an ecollar at an extra cost. I told her it felt as if our cat was an out of sight, out of mind condition. She completely shift blamed the situation, saying we didn’t follow protocols (why would I go through all of this not to follow protocols). She was absolutely condescending, telling us how ‘great’ they are in the community and basically it boiled down to being our fault. I asked if I brought my child in for a surgery, did she think this kind of behavior would be acceptable for the professionals over my child’s care. Once again, she shifted the conversation saying ‘IF YOUR CHILD DOCTORS OFFICE IS CLOSED YOU TAKE THEM TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM’ (I already explained, we did this twice). I’ve never once called an establishment and been demeaned or spoken to as condescendingly as this encounter. I’ve never even left a negative review for an establishment so that goes to show how poorly this place encountered the situation. I just wanted answers or to say maybe consider that these ‘uncommon situations’ occur and to equip people better. The refuse to look at the situation and say ‘there was something more we could’ve done to protect and care for this animal in our care’. Completely unprofessional, completely neglectful and I will never come back. I’m sure the response, if any, will only, once again, be them finding a way to say it wasn’t their fault. I read post where they do the same exact thing to anyone who say they were even slightly at fault. Feel free to believe them at the cost of your animal.
