I love stopping at Rosedale Rare Books whenever I'm in the area. Their book and card selection is fantastic, and the cafe is great. Employees I've interacted with have always been friendly and helpful.

The selection of used books in the basement is enormous and neatly organized. The place is clean too. My allergies usually act up in a used bookstore (section), but not this place.nnI usually I grab what I'm looking for and go but this place I stick around for hours. However, I did notice most of their books are paperback.

Just a heads up. If you’re rare books aren’t in tip top shape they will barely give them a glance. Not to discredit them, just an observation.

Note: this is a single room, tiny book store. There is a link to see inside on their Google Plus page. Check that out if you're in question on their size.nnI visited this store on a whim when parking to go get some BBQ at Peggy Sue's. It was interesting that this store is located within a gun shop, but kind of cool at the same time. There is a clear specialty in history, mainly war, along with biographies. There is also a good amount of Texas related books. Prices are slightly higher, but that's due to the rarity of the books being sold. Hence, the 'Rare Books' in the shop name. Don't expect any killer bargains or anything here, just good quality rare books.

They have it all: new, used, and FIRST EDITIONS $$$nnI get what I want and leave without browsing. Why?? The dust. My allergies go haywire in here.
