Hindes Fine Art is a place that encourages and creates freedom, confidence, and camaraderie in art. Janice Hindes is a teacher with a world of experience, a wealth of knowledge and an unfailingly funny, accurate insight in all things paint and form. She can capture light in her paintings, and she can teach you to do that as well. Though I have taken art classes for many years, I come away from each class with a new lesson or two to tuck away, a canvas better for her assistance and a feeling of accomplishment. Her talent and her love of the arts provide inspiration for the newcomers, the professionals, and everyone in between.

Janice Hindes has created a vibrant and exciting fine art community in the heart of San Antonio! It’s an incredible source of fine art instruction for beginners and seasoned artists alike. I've had the privilege of knowing Janice Hindes for several years and I have taken lessons from her since I was 13! After many years of lessons from art professors and participating in numerous workshops, I regard Janice to be one of the most knowledgeable and inspirational teachers in my art journey. The wealth of expertise of all the instructors at the Hindes Fine Art Institute is truly impressive. Janice Hindes, founder of the institute, has a great teaching style that inspires her students to accomplish only quality art work. Judy Korge, drawing instructor, is a kind, nurturing teacher who works with students ranging from ages 8 to 80. Janice is an amazing teacher and artist. I started with her as a beginner and within a month of taking classes, I was already accepting commissions. She takes students of all skill levels. If you want to be a fine artist, or hobbiest, you won’t regret taking classes from her. She has an amazing eye and a wealth of knowledge. She truly knows her craft. Her students are some of the most talented, kind, and encouraging people I’ve ever met. The building is gorgeous and the gallery is growing. What a treasure we have here in San Antonio!
