Last Shadow

I went on a 2 person hunt. Overall fun experience. It was my first time to do this. Communication was good with Barrett. All was very safe and professional. The pilot Richard was excellent. Only problem I had was not near enough hogs. These posts of 20 and 30 hogs is not even close to what we saw. I got 2 hogs and 4 coyotes. I did not miss one target. So it wasn't like I saw a bunch of hogs and just missed. I mean how can you miss these hogs are so slow and easy targets with a red dot. The pilot puts you right on them. My buddy got 1 hog and a chance at 2 or 3 coyotes. This was a 2 hour flight and thought I would see a lot more action for $3k each. Maybe they have over hunted these spots and have killed most hogs in the area. Thats the goal for the farmers but for the hunter not a good scenario. I will do this again but will have to try a different company.

I know helicopters. There is no better operation. There are no safer helicopter. There is no Texan better than Barrett.

Update:nAfter much persistence, we were contacted by Barrett and issued our refunds. This took entirely too long however he said he had a change in management etc and apologized for the delay offering a free hour of hunting. I appreciated getting our refund and in turn have edited my review to reflect this.nnOriginal: Paid for a hunt in December 2018 that was booked for February 2019. Attempted to do the hunt two days in a row but was cancelled due to the weather. We were ensured our money would be credited back to our card and after multiple calls, texts, emails, etc here we are 6 weeks later with no refund. Would be happy to edit this review once I receive my $4,750!!!

EDIT: We we’re finally contacted by the owner Barrett to try and rectify the situation and issue our refunds. It took approximately 8 weeks or so to get this done. After speaking with him, he has now taken his company back over after relinquishing the management back at the beginning of the year. He is trying to be genuine and truthful in taking on the issues that his clients have incurred. I feel he has taken care of all my groups complaints and has apologized for his lack of involvement with the customer service side. I would be willing to purchase and reschedule a hunt after speaking with Barrett on our discrepancy. Thanks, Barrett for doing the right thing! I have revised my review and edited the rating.nnTHIEF, that’s all that can be said about Last Shadow. Paid in full for a hunt in December that was scheduled for February 28th. Due to the weather the hunt was canceled and the pilot Richard Potts offered a refund or reschedule. We rescheduled for the next day and weather would not allow flight clearance. We then asked for the refund and he said that those were only handled by the owner Barrett. We have made several attempts by phone, text, email, social media, etc. Barrett has denied any and all refunds and has yet to respond to any of the 4 people in our group. He has stolen $7,600.00 from us. I would highly recommend you stay as far away from this unprofessional crook of a business and business owner. Looks like he is in the business to steal people’s money.

Amazing experience!!nnOn of the top most exciting and fun things I have ever done! Barrett was and excellent pilot and communicator as we went through our excursion.nnWe were able to get 20 hogs, see amazing views, and a received thorough overview of the impact of feral hogs on the Texas farming community.nnThe AR-15's with red dot scopes were of high quality and easy to get on target. Instructions from the safety officer were great but not annoying and they were a great outfitter to join on a hunt. Barrett's flying skills are top of the line, getting us right above the tree lines and kept the aircraft completely steady while actually persuing targets.nnWe will be going back - and we will be bringing our friends.nnUnlike the review from John Smith here on Google, we had a 100% perfect experience. John Smith actually had a issue with Gunn&Hook; not Last Shadow.
