I have had great luck with Rice Plumbing. The person on the phone is friendly and helpful. The repair person arrived on time and the work done was great. Will be calling them again when I need plumbing help.

Sadly this was a fairly poor experience. My water heater went out on me and so I called and asked to have someone come out. The lady on the phone (Elsa) was an absolute delight. She informed me her techs were out of town but that she would get them to me as fast as possible. They ended up being stuck t several jobs between then and the time when they arrived for me, and Elsa kept me abridged at every step along the way. I wasn't even upset that it took over 24 hours for them to get to me; businesses get busy and I was totally fine with that considering how diligent Elsa was letting me know.nnThen they got here. The two techs said immediately and without hesitation or that I needed a new water heater. They didn't even look inside the already open panel to see anything. There was rust, and that was that.nnThe heater itself is at least ten years old, and I will be objective in that there is rust on it and it is not in great shape. My issue is that there was never a consideration for replacing the heating elements or thermostat. It was a lost cause before they laid a finger on it.nnSo the issue ended up being that it needed to be reset. I'm an idiot, admittedly. I didn't know there was a reset button on it. But the techs were here for five minutes, told me I needed a new water heater, hit the reset button... and then handed me a bill for $115.nnThat. was. sickening. I have never seen such an insane bill like that. I handed them a check... it is thirty degrees outside and the last thing I am going to do is start a fight with technicians. But I immediately called back. After mentioning the issue Elsa spoke to her boss and had the price knocked down to $58. Of course I feel like I won the lottery at that point so I paid it. But I will not be returning to Rice again. Absolutely ridiculous business.nnTo be fair I will note that the cost they quoted me to replace the water heater was $950... labor included. That isn't a bad price. Of course it doesn't take into account the $115 to get them to press the on switch I'm sure.nnOh and by the way... the reset button worked. So... the nonsense about needing a new water heater was a little exaggerated.

In this crazy weather and trying times I am grateful to Rice Plumbing for getting to me so quickly. They were professional from the first phone call (Gail) to the moment they walked out my door.

Awesome job by their crew on a shower repair at our ranch. Very clean, courteous and detailed work. Highly recommended!
