the parking service people are nice but whoever runs this joint needs to put some thought into their policies. Literally got a new vehicle and they try to charge you for a new sticker unless you can peel off the old one with the number intact. NEWSFLASH. peeling off an old ETSU sticker (exterior type) that has baked in the sun for 6 months in one piece is like trying to peel wet toilet paper off the wall without it falling apart.

Half of the school money comes from tuition, the other half, parking tickets. They literally have a book on all the parking rules. Nobody should have to read a book before parking, just put some signs! I'm not buying them lunch because I backed into a space.

Most of the time the people on the office are nice, but I am giving 1 star due to the nature of the service. The rules need simplified, honestly they should only be faculty, student, then handicap. Color code the spots then people will not have half as many problems.

Don't bother bringing sufficient evidence to appeal citations, they'll be late to the meeting they schedule, and completely waste your time. I brought them photographic slides of where I was parked, without any staff parking signs in sight, and gave a clear and concise explanation why the ticket should have been repealed. It was cut and dry case, but when it comes to them having to option to take your money, or not take your money, you can guess which way the vote swings.nnI posted a picture of South Dossett Drive, There are no Faculty/Staff parking signs on the north side of the curb; however, there are faded blue marks, which the parking office staff admitted not to be visible before sunrise (the time I parked there). Be cognizant of these faded markers, especially if you arrive at morning classes before dawn. It's not listed under the fine sections in the Parking and Traffic Regulations, but if does mention the markers once, in fine print, out of all 13 pages of the pamphlet.

The nature of this business is a dark one, but I personally had an easy time with the staff and a great conversation to boot. Lots of smiles from the single visit I was in there, and both quickly and efficiently received my permit. The charming clerk even gave me a warning about peak times to avoid and when my permit will expire.nnWhen people are forced to pay unreasonable/unjust fines they are usually in terrible moods and consequently are apt to give poor reviews: this is completely understandable, though it leaves room for subjectivity. My attempt at an objeftive review: as pleasant as any other exchange with a clerk could be. Nice enough place, and my mood was matched and positively reflected by the clerk! Four stars.nnI would suggest to others that, in any situation dealing with a human element, you get what you give. Perhaps a little more humanity could garner compassion and mercy for the other frustrated reviewers.
