Washington County Health Department

My wife and I received our Covid Vaccination from the health department at Freedom Hall and the staff there were very well organized and extremely kind. We were so glad we didn't go anywhere else because we didn't even have to get out of our car. This was not an exception because every time we've been to the health department or called them it's been a good experience.

I have called the health dept 5 or 6 times over the past few days and the phone just rings and rings... when someone did finally answer the phone, the person I needed to talk to was on another line. They took my name and number and said I would receive a call back. Almost 2 days later, and no call.If this had happened one time, I would not be posting this review. But it is the same story every time I need some thing. Same type of thing has been going on for months every time I call. I don’t understand why they cannot answer the phone. All of this being said, I gave them three stars because the lactation consultant is very nice and helpful.

Convenient testing, results usually come quickly and it is free which is awesome during these times. My only issues is that occasionally they are closed, and you cannot find info (or at least I could not) and I drove 25 minutes from Erwin to realize I just had to turn on back home and it was well before the time I thought they closed up for the day. The second time I went for a test the person who performed the test did not swab as deeply as they did the first time, not sure if that’s common for a second exam or to my particular situation but they swabbed just the inside of my nostril versus “poking my brain” and left me with doubts about my results.

The healthcare professional left EVERYTHING to be desired. The female RN was very rude, unprofessional, and condescending. She indicated that even though I had waited in line and was the last car, I had to leave immediately bc she was supposed to leave an hour before my arrival. My husband tested positive, my two toddlers were in the car, and I am a healthcare worker. I asked her politely to squeeze us in and she raised her voice angrily and asked me to leave and handed me a piece of paper with other resources. The following day, my husband takes our 2 year old son and they decided they would close 2 hours early. Run from the health dept. as they lack empathy, professionalism and a work ethic.
